***Side note to Megan and Tyler: We try and keep all engagement photo sessions to one and a half hours… but heck… when your downtown on a gorgeous evening it’s hard to stay within that limit. THANK YOU for being so patient and accommodating! It was so much fun to work with you!

We started our session at the beautiful Lincoln Park right across the street from Civilization Cafe (great coffee house btw, I highly recommend!) And then we went down to the Flats and finished the shoot in the most beautiful evening light of Edgewater Park. Megan and Tyler have been together seven years and are moving to New York so they wanted to commemorate their relationship AND the resilient city of Cleveland. It couldn’t have been a more perfect evening for it! Nathan and I are so grateful that we were a part of documenting their love! Here are some of our favorites:

They met at a friend’s birthday party, after years and years of two of their closest friends knowing each other and finally introducing them! They found they had lots in common right away! Dan and Katie both studied to be Librarians at Baldwin Wallace and share a love for literature. And it’s obvious, when you see them together, they are meant for each other!

Their wedding this August is going to be gorgeous in lovely coral and pinks! I can’t wait. Here are a few of the images Nathan and I were able to capture of their togetherness and love for one another. I think they like each other a lot… don’t you?

Because we shoot with the intention of being as true-to-life as possible, we do very few touch-ups in the post-processing of our finished work. If a wedding we photograph is vibrant/bold, muted shades of natural colors or pale pastels… how lovely! We strive to communicate the beauty of what you’ve worked so hard to bring together: all the details and style of who you are as a couple!

The compositions we look for during a wedding or engagement shoot are an important part of what your images turn out to be. Although our shooting style is classical as we strive to preserve the  story of your day in a thorough and timeless fashion, we always keep an eye-out for several things. These things are: Architectural elements, Classic Portraiture, Close-ups, Emotion, and Sunlight. These elements may not always be present during a shoot, but we are always looking for them.

The following are some visual examples of each of these elements taken from two engagement and two wedding couples:

First, is architectural elements. Here is Mike + Christa in front of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in downtown Cleveland. (This shot could fit in the “sunlight” category too!)

And finally, a personal favorite… Sunlight! Whenever the sun is out, we to take FULL advantage of its warm romance!

Here are just a few of the images of Jeremy and Talya’s fabulous wedding day, with unusual emphasis on the dancing, because… well… that was one of my favorite parts!

We ended the afternoon at a tavern in downtown Hudson – the location of their first date. It was so great to get to know Mike and Katy, to see their love – how Mike made Katy laugh whenever possible, and capture their togetherness. Here are just a few great shots of that fabulous afternoon! We are sooo looking forward to their gorgeous wedding. Congratulations you two!

We started at an old run-down warehouse location in Cleveland. I loved this location because the age and architecture is so charming and the perfect backdrop for such a fabulous couple as Josh and Renée. Then on to a lovely light green fence and beautiful fall foliage; a location where the light just kissed them in the most beautiful way. (I had to throw in the poetry side of me =) Then around the building against the most lovely back-lighting and fun antique advertizement backdrop.

Per Renée’s request, we finished the shoot at the beautiful Edgewater Park in Cleveland. Ending the evening with the warm light of sunset. It truly was a beautiful day! So many great locations it was hard to narrow them down for a blog post (isn’t that always the case.)

It really is beautiful, isn’t it? The way they love each other! From the first-look, until the moment they are running through sparklers, you can tell they are SO HAPPY to be TOGETHER! Together with each other, and with all their loved ones. That love and togetherness is captured in the images below – just a peak at all the lovelies of the day! Yes there are many more, too many for one blog post. Here are the highlights of some of my favorites, each image filled with all the love, warmth, and energy that made their wedding day just perfect!

Nathan and I so enjoyed our time with them! We got the best tip on where to go for dinner, Tommy’s restaurant on Coventry. I was especially excited about this because I heard they served Middle Eastern food! So off we went for some hummus and falafel right after the shoot! Thanks Jeremy and Talya – it was DELicious!

We were so grateful it didn’t rain! There was a 90% chance of showers during our pictures-taking hour! It was sprinkling right BEFORE the pictures (thus the umbrella in Lisa’s hands) and started again right AFTER the picture… {whew} it was close, but we were able to do all the pictures in the great outdoors!

Sam  and Lisa and their families knew how to celebrate their union. I think it was part-way through the reception, right after the Horah, that I turned to Nathan and said: “Why didn’t we lift people on chairs at our wedding?”  It was just. that. fun!
